Bio : Living with a psychiatric disorder is tough. Ordinary things that should make you happy don’t. Ordinary relationships become difficult. Even if you can see that you’re succeeding, sometimes you just can’t feel it. When you work with me, I’m in there with you: finding positive vision and hope, working week by week with what hurts. I believe that all experiences can be ultimately integrated, and that on the other side of pain is personal power. On the other side of feelings of worthlessness are gifts of great value. Together we approach the scary and painful slowly and manageably.
I draw on psychotherapeutic themes, but also spiritual ones. I believe we’re here to look at our thoughts, our stories and our realities and to decide whether we want to keep them or change them. When we see them, we can master them. I do some therapeutic work as part of your visits, but also prefer that you work with your own therapists for best results.
One of my specialties is working with complex health issues. I’ve spent five years in hospitals working with patients actively coping with surgery, cardiac and renal problems, infections, and other major diagnoses. When you want psychiatric care that is compatible with your other health conditions, I’m your guy.
